Marc Marquez has kept his Austin, TX winning streak alive for the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX. Marquez, running his #93 Respol Honda Team RC213V bike, was placed in the fourth grid position after an illegal move for blocking caused him to be penalized for race day.
Immediately from the green flag, Marquez was in a hurry to recover the lost position and time. His penalty really only affected him for the first half of the first lap, quickly edging past the Iannone and Viñales; he eventually sped past any real competition and edged out over Yamaha’s Viñales by 3.560 seconds, resulting in an overall race completion time of 41:52:002. Andrea Iannone came in third, at 6.704 seconds behind Marquez.
Marquez remains undefeated in the U.S. as this is the only MotoGP stop stateside now. They will be racing in Spain on May 6th next.
